Wrexham are set to compete in the Championship for the first time next month and an exciting prediction has now been made.

After securing back-to-back-to-back promotions, the Red Dragons have returned to the second tier of English football for the first time since the 1980s.

Ryan Reynolds wants to be in Premier League within 10 years, and the club are now just one promotion away from that goal.

Wrexham will take home millions more in revenue after their latest promotion to the Championship.

And as the season nears, predictions for how the North American-backed team will fare are coming thick and fast.

Wrexham Championship league position predicted

Wrexham have a tough run of fixtures to start the 2025/26 season, beginning with a clash against ex-Premier League club Southampton.

Now, one former player has said how he thinks the club will fare in the forthcoming campaign.

Brian Flynn made 100 appearances for Wrexham and had a spell as their manager, ending in 2001.

Now, as per The Athletic, Flynn has backed his former side to be in the top six by Christmas.

He said: “Cardiff got relegated but they’re more than capable of bouncing back at the first attempt. Swansea are making some interesting signings — planning and recruitment look to be on the right track. As for Wrexham, momentum is key in football and I’m expecting another really exciting year. The Championship will be a huge challenge but they have the perfect manager (Phil Parkinson) to pursue their endeavours.

“I can see Wrexham being top six by Christmas and ready to push on again.”

Wrexham Championship predictions

Aside from Flynn, plenty of other names have been discussing how the club will fare in the coming year.

Troy Deeney gave a mixed assessment of Wrexham, but the former Birmingham City man backed them for a top-half finish.

Should that, or Flynn’s prediction of top-six by Christmas come true, it could see the Dragons secure their highest ever league finish inside the EFL, with 14th place in the Championship needed for that to happen.

Elsewhere, Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie has backed Wrexham for promotion in 2025/26.
