Wrexham fans are still awaiting news of a first summer transfer.
Wrexham are in talks to sign Danny Ward following the goalkeeper’s release from Championship rivals Leicester City.

Wrexham’s first summer signings under Phil Parkinson
Parkinson is targeting Premier League quality and deals of that intricacy can take their time to get over the line.
Historically, the Red Dragons have been patient in the summer transfer window under Parkinson and that appears to be the case again.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have backed the club in the transfer market but no decisions have been made hastily and that shows with the dates of Wrexham’s first signings during previous windows.
In 2021, Shaun Brisley and Liam McAlinden were signed on 9th July in a double deal, before Jordan Tunnicliffe was secured on 1st July in 2022.
Will Boyle was the club’s first signing back in the football league in 2023 but wasn’t announced until 13th July.
Last summer saw the earliest Wrexham have announced a transfer under Parkinson when Arthur Okonkwo signed on 22nd June. Fans eagerly anticipate the first deal of the 2025 window.
Who is likely to be Wrexham’s first signing?
Shaun Harvey hinted at free agent signings this summer and they are the easiest deals to complete given that a fee doesn’t have to be agreed with the selling club.
Tom Cairney was offered a contract by Wrexham however, the midfielder is keen to extend his stay with Fulham.
Cresswell and Dawson are the likeliest candidates having both been offered deals by the Red Dragons but there is yet to be any word of a decision from the duo and Cresswell wants to stay in the Premier League.
It could be a loan signing that gets over the line first as Wrexham’s change in transfer strategy will target top young talent arriving on a temporary basis to help with their competitiveness in the second tier.
