The window may be closed, but there are still enough Wrexham transfer rumours and updates to share from the past week to keep us going.
Wrexham spent big in the summer with 13 new signings coming through the door as Phil Parkinson revamped his promotion-winning squad.
Things haven’t quite been going to plan for the Red Dragons so far this season, though. Defeat to Stoke City at the weekend leaves Wrexham facing a relegation battle, which could force Parkinson’s hand when it comes to the next transfer window.
With that in mind, here’s a rundown of the latest transfer stories related to Wrexham from the past week.

Portsmouth manager responds to Patrick Bamford links
Recently, Portsmouth have been linked with a move to Patrick Bamford. But, Pompey boss John Mousinho has rubbished those reports and says he is not looking to sign the former Leeds United striker.
Wrexham were urged to sign Bamford in the summer, but that didn’t materialise. He was set to sign for Getafe in Spain, but that move also fell through. Could Wrexham rekindle their interest in the veteran forward? Who knows, but it sounds like Portsmouth won’t be an issue.
Conor Coady deal branded worst of the summer
Recently, Conor Coady has been dropped by Parkinson after a string of poor performances. It’s a shame, given he cost Wrexham at least £2m in transfer fees this summer, plus what we assume are big wages.
That deal has now been called into question by a report from The Athletic which assessed transfer activity across the board with information from top football agents. In fact, the Coady deal was branded the worst of the summer by one agent.

Former Wrexham target Bobby Clark set for £6m move
Another player Wrexham were linked with in the summer is set for a big move in January. Derby County won the race for Bobby Clark, with a season-long loan deal agreed.
However, that deal is now being cut short and Clark will join Celtic for £6m in the New Year. Wrexham had wanted to sign Clark from RB Leipzig, but will now have to forget about any chance of getting a deal done.
Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds greenlight striker move
With Sam Smith and Ryan Hardie failing to make an impact, and Kieffer Moore misfiring at the weekend, Parkinson may well want to sign a new striker in January.
Luckily for him, Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds have agreed to make a deal happen when the transfer window opens. It’s not known who Wrexham will sign currently, but it sounds like a new forward will be heading to North East Wales soon.
