Wrexham are preparing for their first season in the second tier since 1982.
Humphrey Ker has admitted Wrexham will spend this summer in order to compete with the step up in quality that comes with promotion from League One.
Phil Parkinson expects departures from Wrexham and co-owner Rob McElhenney has admitted a ‘tragic flaw’ in seeing players leave the Racecourse Ground.
Parkinson confirmed plans for Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer as he expects the duo to be at the club for pre-season training but doubts still remain as to whether that will come to fruition.
Wrexham Insider takes a look at five other players who could leave the club this summer amid promotion to the Championship.

Five Wrexham players who could depart this summer
Much has been discussed about the potential departures of Mullin and Palmer this summer but Parkinson faces a challenge in securing a 25-man squad ready for the rigours of the Championship.
He will have to trim his squad in order to make room for some quality additions with proven Championship or higher experience, here are five players that could leave Wrexham.
Jacob Mendy
Jacob Mendy has been an integral part of Wrexham’s rise from the National League but has found his opportunities limited this season.
Mendy didn’t get a proper farewell on the final day of the season as his time in North Wales looks to be up.
However, having made 76 appearances across a three-year spell for the Red Dragons, fans will be sad to see the Gambian international depart – he would be an excellent addition for most League One sides.
Luke McNicholas
Goalkeeper Luke McNicholas was signed from Sligo Rovers back in the summer of 2023 but has only featured three times for the club.
Wrexham recalled McNicholas from a loan spell at Rochdale this season after suffering a muscular injury that hampered his progress at the National League club.
With the 25-man squad including keepers next season, it is likely that Parkinson will move McNicholas on, especially with the likes of Arthur Okonkwo and Callum Burton to call upon already.
Will Boyle
Will Boyle made just three appearances for Wrexham amid a frustrating season for the 29-year-old defender.
A calf injury meant he was unavailable for selection for a lengthy period but even upon return Boyle was excluded from Wrexham’s final EFL squad of the campaign.
It would indicate that Parkinson sees Boyle’s future elsewhere and Wrexham’s links with Harry Darling would further highlight their stance on the defender signed from Huddersfield Town in 2023.

Luke Bolton
Luke Bolton joined Wrexham late in the January transfer window in 2024 but made just three appearances this season as he fell down the pecking order.
Bolton’s position as an orthodox right-back meant that he struggled to adapt to Parkinson’s 3-5-2 system and spent much of the campaign on the sidelines.
Parkinson hinted at Bolton’s exit back in the January window and after also being excluded from the final EFL squad of the season, it is likely the 25-year-old defender will move on.
George Evans
George Evans has been an excellent addition for the Red Dragons since his arrival from Millwall in September 2023.
Evans could depart for Tom Lawrence to make his way into the Wrexham squad this summer with the Rangers man linked with a move to the Racecourse.
Having made just 11 appearances this season, Evans is a player that deserves more first-team opportunities and will look elsewhere to provide that this summer.
