Paul Mullin and more… Phil Parkinson has just condemned these six Wrexham players to be sold this summer

Wrexham could see some forgotten names moved on this summer. Phil Parkinson could even move on some of the regulars from last season.

Wrexham have big plans this summer. The Dragons look set to spend well and bolster the side with some Championship quality following their promotion from League One.

But Phil Parkinson has hinted that several first-team players could leave Wrexham this summer. Already, Wrexham have released eight players following promotion, and Parkinson says more could follow.

Parkinson has predicted Wrexham player sales, saying: “It goes without saying that as the summer and pre-season progresses, there are players who will want a move themselves… As much as the lads love being at Wrexham, there are players who haven’t featured as much this season who will be thinking ‘for my own career, I need to get playing again’.”

Parkinson went on to add: “Obviously players are going to be leaving because we need to make space to bring in additions to make us competitive.”

With that in mind, here are all the Wrexham players likely up for sale this summer…

George Evans

Parkinson looks set to sign some quality midfielders this summer with Tom Cairney linked with Wrexham, along with the likes of Tom Lawrence and Lewis O’Brien. And that looks set to leave George Evans out of the first-team picture.

The 30-year-old made just seven League One appearances in 2024/25, last featuring in a matchday squad way back in March.

Will Boyle

Will Boyle has become a forgotten man at the Racecourse. The towering centre-back didn’t play a single league game in 2024/25 but featured in the EFL Trophy on three occasions, with his contract set to expire in a year.

There looks to be no future for Boyle at Wrexham and so expect him and the club to want to part ways this summer.

Luke Bolton

The same largely applies to Luke Bolton. He didn’t play a single league match this season either, limited to just EFL Trophy appearances for the Dragons. And also like Boyle, Bolton is out of contract in 2026. Expect him to want to move on as well this summer.

Jacob Mendy

Defender Jacob Mendy managed four League One appearances in 2024/25, last playing in the EFL Trophy defeat against Peterborough United back in February.

The 28-year-old was a useful player in both the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons but he seems to have been left behind as Wrexham’s rise has continued. He’s another out of contract in 2026.

Ollie Palmer

Ollie Palmer is a legend at Wrexham. He’s scored some huge goals for the Dragons on this incredible journey and Palmer was recently with Ryan Reynolds in New York, showing just how much of a legend he is at the club.

But out of contract in 2026 and seemingly well out of Parkinson’s first-team plans, with no appearances since February, expect him to move on this summer.

Paul Mullin

Last but not least, Paul Mullin is surely another who’s moved on this summer. The Wrexham hitman and cult hero has endured a really tough season and it looks like the time is right for him to leave the Racecourse, and go and score goals somewhere else.

With 105 goals in 165 games for the club, Mullin is part of the club’s folklore now. And there’s already interest in his services with Wigan Athletic interested in signing Mullin.
