Wrexham are set for a number of departures this summer on a permanent basis.
Phil Parkinson has hinted at departures and the likes of Will Boyle and Luke Bolton look almost certain to be on the move from the Racecourse Ground after having limited opportunities in League One.
The Championship requires a 25-man squad to be named, including goalkeepers, leaving Parkinson with the job of trimming his Wrexham squad before he can acquire new talent.
However, Harry Ashfield is set to leave on loan and after impressing during the EFL Trophy run to the semi-final, there will be plenty of clubs eyeing the Wrexham academy star.

Three clubs Harry Ashfield could join on loan
Max Cleworth praised Ashfield and named the young star as a player to watch out for next season as he continues his football development.
Parkinson was delighted with Ashfield’s new contract back in March and the time has now come for the versatile Wrexham youngster to go and get some first-team experience.
Wrexham Insider highlights three clubs that could look at Ashfield this summer and suit the 19-year-old in terms of his own career progression.
Oldham
Oldham secured a route back into the English Football League with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Southend United in extra time of the play-off final.
Rob McElhenney sent a message to Frank Rothwell in order to congratulate the Oldham chairman on their success and the owners’ good relationship could spark an opportunity for Ashfield.
Micky Mellon’s side will be looking to bolster their squad ahead of the challenge of League Two and Ashfield’s ability to play as a striker and as an attacking midfielder would catch the attention at Boundary Park.
Billy Waters joined Oldham in January and would be a familiar face for Ashfield to help settle into life with the EFL new boys.
Gillingham
Gillingham were the lowest scorers in League Two last season with just 41 goals across the campaign and a player of Ashfield’s quality could improve that record.
Ashfield proved in his five appearances in the EFL Trophy that he could be a goal threat from either leading the line or just behind the striker.
Walsall had great success in loaning Stoke City’s young star Nathan Lowe before he was recalled by the Potters and Gillingham may see Ashfield as someone who could make a similar impact.
Port Vale
Paul Mullin was excited by Ashfield following his excellent performance against Port Vale in the EFL Trophy earlier this season.
Ashfield scored his first goal for the club during the game and Port Vale got to see his talent up close during a 4-1 defeat.
Vale went on to secure promotion to League One and may see Ashfield as the sort of signing that would bolster their squad upon entering a new division.
Ryan Barnett likened Ashfield to Andres Iniesta back in October 2024 and Port Vale would be more than interested in taking a chance on the Wrexham youngster with praise as high as that.
