A number of players are expected to leave Wrexham over the course of the 2025 summer transfer window.

Wrexham are releasing eight players this month, with key figures such as Steven Fletcher and Mark Howard’s contracts not being renewed.

It’s not just those eight names who could be on their way out of the Racecourse Ground this summer, however.

Phil Parkinson has already commented that Wrexham will let players leave this year as he looks to make room in his overpopulated 27-man squad.

Now, an insight into some of the names who could depart Wales in the near future has been provided.

Two Wrexham players expected to lead summer exits

Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer have been backed to leave Wrexham in 2025 after falling heavily out of favour.

Mullin has interest from Wigan Athletic, whose pursuit of Sam Dalby was dealt a blow recently amid interest from Bolton Wanderers.

As well as the two legendary strikers, however, another two names have now been tipped to depart.

According to a report from The Athletic, centre-back Will Boyle and right-back Luke Bolton are likely to lead the summer exodus at the Racecourse this year.

Due to a combination of injuries and competition for places, both players saw very little game time in 2024/25.

Parkinson called Boyle ‘outstanding’ in 2024, but he didn’t feature at all in League One last term, and a move would make sense given the raft of defenders Wrexham are being linked with.

Wrexham targeting defenders

Aaron Cresswell has been linked to Wrexham and would offer Parkinson an option at left-wing-back and in the left-centre-back role.

A move for Jonny Evans is off the cards as he is now set to retire with Manchester United this month.

Elsewhere, Ben Davies is of interest and, like Cresswell, could be used as centre-back or on the left of the backline.
