Wrexham’s squad is set to look very different come the opening day of their Championship campaign.
Steven Fletcher and Mark Howard were among the first names to depart the Racecourse Ground following their release at the end of their contracts.
Paul Mullin is set to join Wigan on a season-long loan deal and his strike partner Ollie Palmer has been told he can leave the club by Phil Parkinson.
Wrexham signed Ryan Hardie as their first summer acquisition but another forward option may come through the door following Mullin and Palmer’s departures. Wrexham Insider looks at three possible options for the Red Dragons.

Three Wrexham replacements for the outgoing Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer
Parkinson would be left with five strikers at the club should Mullin and Palmer make their expected exits from the Red Dragons.
Daniel Jebbison has joined Preston after interest was shown in the Canadian striker by the club but there are still quality alternatives available to join the likes of Sam Smith and Hardie in Wrexham’s attacking options next season.
Danny Ings
Wrexham are interested in Danny Ings following the 32-year-old striker’s release from West Ham United at the end of his current deal.
Ings has an impressive Championship record and his experience will be an attractive trait for Parkinson as he looks to fill the voids left in his squad.
Watford are also interested in the forward however, Wrexham’s stability could appeal to Ings as he looks to end his career on a high.
There is no doubt his predatory goal scoring instincts would provide the Red Dragons with an excellent option in attack either alongside Smith or Hardie, or making an impact from the bench.

Callum Robinson
Wrexham are interested in Callum Robinson and hope that following Cardiff’s relegation to League One last season, the Red Dragons can persuade the striker to make the move.
Robinson sent a heartfelt message to Cardiff fans after being named the club’s player of the season for the 2024-25 campaign, underlining the quality of the £1.5m rated forward.
Cardiff’s manager is defiant against selling Robinson however, should the player be tempted by Wrexham’s exciting project, it would be difficult to stop a move progressing.
Robinson scored 12 goals in the second tier last season and endeared himself to the Cardiff fans for his tireless work rate and clinical eye in front of goal.
| Callum Robinson’s Championship record | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Robinson | 272 | 61 | 36 |
Sunusi Ibrahim
Perhaps the least obvious replacement for Mullin and Palmer comes in the form of CF Montreal striker Sunusi Ibrahim.
Wrexham are tracking Ibrahim and Parkinson is attracted to the forward’s pace and power – two traits that the manager is looking to add to his squad this summer.
Taiwo Awoniyi has backed Ibrahim to become a future star and should Wrexham make the move for the MLS man, it would be a wildcard option – one that fans may be the most excited by.
