Wrexham have missed out on one of their transfer targets to a rival Championship team.
While the Red Dragons have already made 10 signings this summer, Phil Parkinson’s team continues to be linked with more players.
It is believed that Wrexham want Andy Irving from West Ham United, while Jordan James is eyed as well.
James previously spent time with Birmingham City following their relegation to League One in 2024.
Wrexham and Birmingham have been competing for players this summer, and the Blues have now won the race for one target.

Birmingham City confirm signing of Wrexham target
Wrexham and Birmingham wanted Lewis Koumas, who Liverpool were willing to loan out this summer.
It emerged via Fabrizio Romano on Friday morning that Koumas had decided to join Birmingham on a temporary basis.
The Tom Brady-backed club have since made the capture of the Liverpool gem official.
Speaking to their media team about the move, Koumas said: “I’m really excited about it [the move] and looking forward to getting going.
“There was lots of interest but just how big of a club this is, how passionate the fans are, the project that I’ve heard about and after speaking to the gaffer, there was no other way about it – I was coming to Birmingham.
“I want to be wanted by a manager and I know he knows a lot about me. It’s always about developing and wanting to get better but I’m also here to come and prove what I can do, score goals and get assists.”
