Wrexham have set their sights on a number of Premier League players ahead of the summer transfer window closing on September 1st.

Already this summer, Wrexham have signed eight new players. But Phil Parkinson doesn’t look set to stop there, and it seems as though he’s now turning his attentions to the Premier League, specifically on loan deals.

Earlier in the summer it was reported that Wrexham want to scour the Premier League for loan signings and ahead of the September 1st deadline, they’re now being linked with a number of potential top flight loan deals.

One such player is Louis Koumas. Last week it was reported that Wrexham are in advanced talks to sign Koumas on loan from Liverpool, though a move seems to have stalled somewhat.

Elsewhere, Wrexham are being linked with Chris Mepham at Bournemouth and also Pedro Lima at Wolves.

Wrexham’s chances of signing Pedro Lima from Wolves revealed

Earlier in the month, Wrexham were linked with a move for Lima at Wolves. The 19-year-old right-back joined Premier League Wolves from Brazilian side Sport Recife last year. And in the 2024/25 Premier League season, the Brazilian made three appearances for the Midlands club, with six appearances in all competitions.

Speaking to Wrexham Insider, transfer expert Graeme Bailey has discussed the possibility of Wrexham signing Lima on loan from Wolves before the end of the summer transfer window, and Bailey talked up the Dragons’ chances of a potential deal for the teenager.

Bailey explained: “There is interest from Wrexham and Wolves are happy for him to move on loan, they rate him highly. Has a chance.”

What Phil Parkinson said about Pedro Lima joining Wrexham

Having signed a number of attacking players this summer and two new midfielders in club record signing Lewis O’Brien and George Thomason, Parkinson now looks set to turn his attentions to defence.

The likes of Mepham and Lima are two new links and show how Wrexham are now focusing on some defensive signings, and already Parkinson has been asked about the chances of Wrexham signing Lima this summer.

Interestingly, the Dragons boss failed to rule out the possibility of Lima joining the club. He said last week: “There’s such a list of players and we seem to get linked to it with everybody. At this stage I just don’t want to really comment on any individuals.”

Wolves take on Man City in the Premier League on Saturday. If Lima isn’t involved in the matchday squad at all, it could be a huge indication as to whether or not he’s leaving this summer.
