Wrexham are set to lose out on a second transfer target to a Championship rival on deadline day.
It has been a hectic start to deadline day for the Dragons, with plenty of news concerning both incomings and outgoings.
Tom O’Connor is leaving Wrexham to sign for Peterborough United, it has been reported.
20-year-old defender Aaron James could leave on loan on Monday as well.
In terms of incomings, Ben Sheaf will sign from Coventry City in a £6.5m deal.
Wrexham are moving for Issa Kabore of Manchester City, who will arrive on loan.

Wrexham target Darko Gyabi joining Championship rival
However, there are now at least two summer targets who won’t be moving to the Racecourse Ground on Monday.
Ex-Birmingham City midfielder Jordan James was eyed by Wrexham earlier this month.
However, it has now emerged on September 1 that Leicester City are winning the race for James.
Elsewhere, it was reported over the weekend that Wrexham wanted Darko Gyabi from Leeds United.
Watford, Hull City and French sides Lorient and Metz were all thought to hold an interest in the player.
Now, Baz Cooper has said Gyabi is joining Hull, with a move ‘pretty much done’.
He wrote: “Darko Gyabi from Leeds United deal is pretty much done and dusted. Permanent deal and long-term contract for the 21-year-old at Hull City.”
Wrexham signing quality midfielder
Like James, missing out on Gyabi is not a huge blow for Wrexham, given which midfielder they are signing.
Sheaf has been praised by Declan Rice previously after he shone against Manchester United in the FA Cup last season.
The 27-year-old has over 100 Championship appearances to his name and should add some stability to Parkinson’s midfield.
His arrival does, however, likely mean Matty James will lose his regular starting berth.
