Wrexham have been dealt a hammer blow in their pursuit of one summer transfer target.

Wrexham have been told to make six to nine signings in the 2025 summer window, which opens on June 1.

Premier League loan players are being targeted by Phil Parkinson, who has already been in contact with clubs.

Brentford ace Myles Peart-Harris is of interest to Wrexham ahead of a potential temporary switch.

Meanwhile, as has always been the case since Parkinson arrived in Wales back in 2021, experienced hands are being targeted.

Aaron Cresswell could arrive on a free transfer next month when his West Ham United contract runs out.

Elsewhere, it had been reported that Wrexham were considering a move for Jonny Evans.

Wrexham target Jonny Evans retires from football

Manchester United confirmed Evans was leaving the club earlier in May when his deal runs out.

This was seemingly good news for Wrexham, who could have had the chance to land a Premier League-quality centre-back for absolutely nothing.

Evans was most recently in action during the Red Devils’ post-season tour of Asia on May 30.

The Northern Irishman featured in a 3-1 win over Hong Kong, in what was billed as his final ever Man Utd appearance.

Now, it has since been reported that not only is Evans departing the Manchester outfit, but he’s hanging up his playing boots completely.

Defenders Wrexham are linked with

Wrexham’s defensive record in League One was superb, but more quality will be needed to deal with the threat of Championship attackers.

As well as the aforementioned Cresswell, rumours of interest in Tottenham Hotspur’s ace Ben Davies have emerged.

Elsewhere, Wrexham like Plymouth Argyle defender Maksym Talovierov, who is currently set to be playing in League One next season following the Greens’ relegation.

Harry Darling will make a contract decision soon as well, with the Dragons among the clubs thought to be interested in the Swansea City stopper.
