Wrexham’s busy summer is well and truly underway.

Mark Howard has announced his departure from Wrexham amid his contract expiring and is set to be the first of many leaving the Racecourse Ground this summer.

Wrexham are targeting Cardiff duo Ollie Tanner and Isaak Davies as Phil Parkinson looks to mould a 25-man squad ready to compete in the Championship.

The Red Dragons are looking to strengthen in a number of positions, Harry Darling is of interest to Wrexham in central defence, whilst the club has just received a boost in their pursuit of a January target.

Ruben Selles departs Hull City amid Joe Gelhardt transfer race

Wrexham were interested in Joe Gelhardt during the January transfer window and with the striker’s experience in the Championship and Premier League, Parkinson could revisit that interest this summer.

However, Hull City want to sign Gelhardt on a permanent deal from Leeds following a successful loan spell during the second half of the season.

It was thought that the time Gelhardt spent at the Tigers would sway him to choose a move to Hull City but as per BBC Sport, Ruben Selles has departed the club.

Selles recently praised the time Gelhardt spent at Hull and as per Hull Live, labelled him ‘exceptional’ for his efforts at the club.

Hull City’s sudden change of manager could mean that new targets and ideas are brought into the club, leaving Wrexham with an opportunity to swoop for Gelhardt.

Wrexham are interested in Callum Robinson as Parkinson looks to add further firepower up top to his squad.

Both Gelhardt and Robinson have played in the Championship this season and have proven to be able to find the back of the net in the second tier.

Despite the arrivals of Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez in January, it is expected that the Red Dragons will seek to add more options at centre forward.

Scoring in the Championship is not easy and it requires a player with knowledge of the division and the ability to take chances when they can become few and far between.
