Wrexham’s busy summer has resulted in some significant departures, with Eoghan O’Connell the latest player to leave the STōK Cae Ras.
Phil Parkinson has named his Wrexham squad for the Championship season following the conclusion of the summer transfer window.
Wrexham racked up 13 signings during the summer window as Parkinson revamped his options.
Landing so many signings was always going to lead to departures, and some real fan favourites have moved on.
Paul Mullin joined Wigan Athletic, Ollie Palmer moved to Swindon Town last week, and George Evans has said an emotional goodbye after joining Burton Albion.

Ollie Rathbone sends message to Eoghan O’Connell
Another departure materialised on Thursday, as Wrexham announced the release of defender Eoghan O’Connell.
Parkinson confirmed that O’Connell had a transfer lined up on deadline day, but that move collapsed.
O’Connell’s deal has been terminated by mutual consent, and he will now look for a new club after two-and-a-half years at Wrexham.
The Irishman played his part in three straight promotions and leaves having been a mainstay of Parkinson’s back three.
O’Connell was left out of Wrexham’s Championship squad on Thursday, and his release has now provided the explanation for his omission.
Ollie Rathbone was also missing from Wrexham’s squad, with the midfielder still on the sidelines through injury.
Rathbone has taken to Instagram to send a message to O’Connell after hearing of the defender’s departure.
‘Unsung hero. You’ll be missed, my mate,’ said Rathbone, as he offered a heartfelt farewell to the centre-back.

Eoghan O’Connell can count himself unlucky
O’Connell started 38 League One games for Wrexham last season and continued to play a vital role under Parkinson.
An injury late in the season saw Dan Scarr emerge as the starting defender in the middle of Parkinson’s back three.
O’Connell was unlucky to miss out there and can count himself unfortunate to have lost his spot at Wrexham.
Conor Coady’s arrival at Wrexham brought the idea that one of O’Connell or Scarr would be moving on.
Scarr had attracted League One interest, and he appeared to be the most likely to leave as the deadline approached.
Instead, it’s O’Connell who has moved on, and his contribution to Wrexham’s rise should not be forgotten, as he prepares for his next move.
