Wrexham have signed four free agents so far this season and Phil Parkinson has now decided the future of one of those incomings.
Many fans would have expected Wrexham’s incoming business to be done and dusted once Modou Faal signed for Wrexham on transfer deadline day.
Wrexham have remained in the market though, signing four free agents so far this season.
Josh Adam joined Wrexham in September before Jon Dadi Bodvarsson arrived alongside Matty James amid injury problems in Phil Parkinson’s squad.
Wrexham’s most recent addition was Brad Foster with the goalkeeper signing on after injuries to Arthur Okonkwo and Callum Burton.
Free agent signings outside of the transfer window are rare enough, but four in the space of a few months is pretty unprecedented at this level.

Wrexham make Matty James decision
Adam was handed a one-year deal with the option of another but James, Bodvarsson and Foster have only signed short-term deals.
Wrexham fans have paid Foster and he may well earn another deal, but James and Bodvarsson were poised to become free agents.
Wrexham have now confirmed that James has signed an extended deal and will stay with the club until the end of next season.
James has been praised as ‘unbelievable’ by Ollie Palmer whilst Parkinson has branded James ‘outstanding’.
It’s therefore no surprise to see that Wrehxam have extended the 33-year-old’s contract, but handing him a deal until the end of next season just shows how much he has impressed.
Parkinson has now praised the decision to keep James, believing that he has played well so far and has a lot to offer in the future.
“I’m pleased we have agreed a deal with Matty. He has done well in his short time at the Club so far and we look forward to working with him going forwards,” said Parkinson.
Jon Dadi Bodvarsson decision looming
Keeping James always seemed likely but this may not bode well for striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.
The Icelandic forward hasn’t made a League One appearance for Wrexham since the win over Exeter City on November 23.
That is almost a month ago and Bodvarsson has certainly suffered from Steven Fletcher’s return from injury.
Bodvarsson now finds himself struggling for action and a new deal looks a little unlikely.
It’s clear that James was the priority and with Wrexham keen to sign a new striker in January, Bodvarsson may find himself let go in the New Year.
