Wrexham owner Ryan Reynolds has issued a short statement on his thoughts over one Red Dragons legend.
Wrexham were taken over by Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac in 2021, and the club have not looked back ever since.
From becoming a sleeping giant lurking in the depths of the National League with no obvious escape, to three successive promotions and one away from the Premier League, it is safe to say that Reynolds and Mac have successfully restored Wrexham to their former glories.
Wrexham now find themselves in the Championship, and whilst results haven’t quite gone their way for the Red Dragons, there is still plenty of optimism around the town, especially last weekend when Reynolds and Mac made the trip to North Wales.
Red Dragons owner Reynolds, as part of his media rounds, was asked to give his verdict on several current and former Wrexham players, including one favourite who is considering retirement.

Ryan Reynolds’ short response to Wrexham legend Steven Fletcher
Ryan Reynolds was tasked with describing a list of current and former Wrexham stars with one word, which brought out some brilliant responses.
For example, Reynolds hailed Ollie Palmer as ‘gorgeous’. He was also asked to describe former Wrexham star Steven Fletcher with one word.
The Red Dragons’ owner may have failed to use just one word and instead referred to him as a ‘bigger beast’ shortly after describing Sam Smith as a ‘beast’.
Fletcher was released from Wrexham this summer and has since been considering retirement from football after not being kept on at the Racecourse Ground.
Steven Fletcher had a huge impact in a short time at Wrexham
In the two years that Steven Fletcher spent at Wrexham, the Scotsman made a significant difference to Phil Parkinson’s side, bagging 16 goals across two seasons.
His goalscoring abilities were tangible, but what was more important was the experience and personality he provided in camp.
Every person related to Wrexham immediately took a shine to Fletcher, including Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, who have previously been very complimentary towards the 38-year-old.
Unfortunately, his time at the club ended rather sooner than he expected, but many still look back on his time at the club very fondly.
Wrexham star Eoghan O’Connell summed Fletcher up best, having previously said: “Fletch is incredible. The influence he’s had on the whole team since he came here has been brilliant.
“The way he is off the pitch and the way he is with the lads, he’s so popular in the dressing room and everyone loves him and his performances speak for themselves.”
