Sam Dalby has thrived since leaving Wrexham on loan but where he will play his football in the remainder of 2024/25 is still uncertain.
After the addition of Modou Faal in late August, Wrexham allowed Sam Dalby to join Dundee United on loan for the 2024/25 season.
The striker is out of contract at the Racecourse Ground in June and his future seemed to be away from Wales.
However, Dalby has excelled at Dundee United, offering hope to fans and the player that he could still play a role for the Red Dragons going forward.
Dundee United want to keep Dalby, which is not surprising given he’s managed to net 10 goals in the Scottish Premier League this term.
But the 25-year-old can still be recalled by Wrexham in the remainder of the 2025 winter transfer window.

What Sam Dalby has said about Wrexham minutes
Parkinson suggested a Dalby decision is imminent when speaking last week and the player himself appears to have dropped a big hint on that topic via social media.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted on Monday that the Englishman has now changed his Instagram profile picture back to him in a Wrexham shirt.
Should Dalby indeed return this month, he will be competing with five more centre-forwards for a starting berth.
However previous comments made by Dalby in November 2023 suggest he isn’t going to be happy with a bit-part role.
He said at the time: “I probably haven’t started as many games as I’d like but I have been coming off the bench and making an impact so I am happy with that.”
It’s a tricky situation for Parkinson to manage as though the striker has excelled in Scotland, it remains to be seen if that form will carry over into League One.
Dalby will also likely face competition from a new arrival at the Racecourse in the second half of 2024/25.

Sam Dalby return could force Wrexham exit
Michael Smith has been linked to Wrexham and speculation around a move has been amplified over the weekend after he was left out of Sheffield Wednesday’s squad to face Leeds United on Sunday.
Should a new striker arrive and Dalby return, Parkinson will surely have to move on one of his current options this month.
Ollie Palmer has only just signed a new contract so it’s unlikely he will be sold, while Steven Fletcher is their most in-form forward at the moment.
As a result, the best option will likely be to send record addition Faal out on loan for the remainder of 2024/25.
