The seven-figure fee Wrexham will save after selling five players including Ollie Palmer

After a busy summer transfer window, Wrexham will need to move players on before the deadline on September 1.

It was confirmed on Thursday that Modou Fall has left Wrexham to join Port Vale on loan for 2025/26.

Even after Faal’s exit, however, the Red Dragons still have 30 players aged 21 or above on their books.

Championship squad rules only permit 25, including goalkeepers, to be registered, so more players will be moved on.

Phil Parkinson has commented on Wrexham exits this week, with Ollie Palmer among the stars who are expected to leave the Racecourse Ground this summer.

5 players who could leave Wrexham

We reported last week that Palmer has been offered to multiple teams this summer, with AFC Wimbledon and MK Dons looking at the Wrexham striker.

Elsewhere, it’s been claimed that Elliot Lee could leave Wales in the current window after falling out of favour.

Aside from Lee and Palmer, Jacob Mendy will be sent out on loan for the 2025/26 season, Parkinson has said.

Meanwhile, Jack Marriott has fallen heavily down the striker pecking order with Ryan Hardie, Kieffer Moore, Sam Smith, Jay Rodriguez and Josh Windass expected to start ahead of him.

George Evans, who hardly featured last term, has a similar problem in midfield following the arrivals of Lewis O’Brien and George Thomason.

Should all of the aforementioned players depart, Wrexham would be saving £1.43m per year on wages.

More Wrexham players could miss out on Championship squad

If said players do depart this summer, Parkinson would, after Faal, have exactly 25 players aged 21 or over to comply with EFL squad rules.

However, it’s expected that Wrexham will make further additions to their team this summer.

Parkinson has commented on the Dragons’ signing Nathan Broadhead from Ipswich Town this week.

Liverpool youngster Lewis Koumas is wanted by Wrexham on loan as well.

The newly promoted team are also targeting Pedro Lima of Wolverhampton Wanderers for a loan move.
