Paul Mullin could leave Wrexham in the summer transfer window, with Wigan Athletic eyeing a deal.
Paul Mullin has fallen out of favour with Phil Parkinson in Wales, not featuring in League One since the end of January.
Mullin wants to play in the Championship with Wrexham, but a potential summer exit is on the cards for the striker.
Wigan Athletic were linked with the 30-year-old hitman towards the end of May.
A further update then emerged this week that claimed Mullin was still in talks over a transfer to the Latics.
That news has led to a very mixed reaction from the Wigan faithful on social media.

Wigan Athletic fans on signing Paul Mullin from Wrexham
Some fans have reacted to the news badly and are not keen on Mullin swapping Wrexham for them.
One fan wrote: “No thank you.”
A second Wigan fan simply added: “No,” with another echoing: “No please.”
A third fan wrote: “Saydee/Mullin,” with a thumbs down emoji next to the Wrexham striker’s name.
There were, however, a couple of fans more in favour of a move for the 30-year-old, but concern has been expressed about his wages and injury record.
One tweeted: “I thought Taylor was decent tbh. But then again, we didn’t have much to compare him to or anyone to push him. I’d have Mullin in the squad without doubt.”
While another added: “He’s much better than what we have or had outside of Aasgaard and Taylor. But I get the worry about him being the main man at this level. He won’t come cheap wages wise and right said Fred won’t build a deep squad either.”
And a third replied: “That’s my two concerns. Age + injuries + wages are what concern me if he’s our main striker. Wages worry me if he’s our backup.”
Paul Mullin Wrexham wage and injury history
The initial report regarding Mullin’s links to Wigan said Wrexham could let him leave for free despite being under contract until 2027.
But the striker’s wage is still on the higher side for a League One team.
According to Salary Sport, Mullin earns £5,800 per week or £301,600 per year on his current deal.
In terms of injuries, the number nine has had a few big problems in the last two seasons.
| Injury | Days out | Games missed |
| Pneumothorax (23/24) | 39 | 9 |
| Back injury (24/25) | 67 | 3 |
| Shin injury (24/25) | 11 | 2 |
Mullin spoke about his back injury during Season 4 of Welcome to Wrexham, revealing the issue was still causing him severe pain after he’d returned to training.
