Wrexham suffered defeat on Saturday afternoon, as Phil Parkinson’s side fell to a 3-1 loss against Queens Park Rangers.

Wrexham beat Millwall 2-0 before the international break and appeared to have turned a corner in the Championship.

That was Parkinson’s first league win of the season, but Wrexham were hit with another defeat after the international break.

Wrexham lost 3-1 to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday afternoon, with more poor defending proving to be the biggest problem.

Parkinson may consider changes at Norwich City next week, and here are three players he can bring into the side…

Dominic Hyam

Wrexham snapped up Dominic Hyam from Blackburn Rovers on transfer deadline day, paying around £2.7million for the Scotland international.

Hyam was on the bench against QPR, but Conor Coady endured a testing afternoon in the heart of the Wrexham back line.

Hyam is about as proven as they come in the Championship and has been through a full pre-season, as well as playing regularly for Blackburn in the opening stages of the season.

The 29-year-old is still learning about his new teammates, but Parkinson may well consider throwing him into the heart of Wrexham’s defence at Carrow Road.

Issa Kabore

Liberato Cacace’s injury has given Wrexham a concern at left wing-back, and Parkinson could shuffle his pack this weekend.

Ryan Longman has the ability to play on the left side, and switching him over from the right could pave the way for Issa Kabore to start.

Alternatively, Kabore could come in on the right flank, with James McClean remaining on the left side after starting against QPR in place of Cacace.

Kabore joined Wrexham from Manchester City on deadline day before heading off on international duty with Burkina Faso.

Parkinson sensibly chose not to plunge Kabore into Championship action just days after returning from Burkina Faso, but a full week of training could see him push for a start at Norwich.

Pace has been a big talking point around this Wrexham side, and Kabore’s speed could be a real asset.

Sam Smith

Ryan Hardie impressed Parkinson with a moment of brilliance against Preston North End in the Carabao Cup, and the Scot has been thrown into the starting XI in the Championship.

Josh Windass and Nathan Broadhead have both encountered injury problems, handing Hardie the chance to partner Kieffer Moore in attack.

Hardie failed to impress Wrexham fans against QPR on Saturday and may lose his place in the line-up against Norwich.

Windass and Broadhead may not be ready to start just yet, so Sam Smith may be next in line.

Smith has yet to start a Championship game this season, but he was outstanding in League One after joining in January.

Smith fired Wrexham to promotion and became an almost instant hero, so it may be time for him to receive a chance to join Moore in attack this weekend.
