The new signings could quickly start flowing into Wrexham this summer, with the Dragons having set their sights on a number of players this summer.
It’s thought that Wrexham have a £25million transfer budget for this summer’s window, and Phil Parkinson has already put £700,000 of that to use on signing Ryan Hardie.
Earlier in June, Wrexham completed the signing of Hardie who becomes the first player to make the move to the Racecourse ahead of the 2025/26 Championship campaign.
As the players return for pre-season testing and for Wrexham’s upcoming pre-season tour of Australia, Parkinson will surely be keen to get new signings through the doors so that they can start to bed in with the rest of the squad.
And it looks like the midfield department could be the one that sees the most change this summer, especially amid rumours that the Dragons are keen on signing both Tom Lawrence and Tom Cairney.

Wrexham eyeing transfer deals for Tom Lawrence and Tom Cairney
There’s a number of midfielders linked with a move to Wrexham this summer. But Lawrence and Cairney appear to be the ones with the closest links to Wales right now: Lawrence’s links to Wrexham have been reignited in the last week or so whilst Wrexham are waiting on an answer from Cairney.
Earlier in the summer it was claimed that Wrexham offered a contract to Cairney worth £50,000-a-week, though that number has since been disputed. Lawrence meanwhile has been released by Rangers, and the pair arriving at the Racecourse would add definite quality to the club’s midfield department.
But their arrivals would also push certain names down the pecking order and potentially out of favour ahead of next season. One such player could be Andy Cannon.

What next for Andy Cannon as Wrexham eye midfield signings
We’ve already seen how ruthless being a Wrexham player can be: Paul Mullin has joined Wigan Athletic on loan after falling drastically out of favour under Parkinson, though just a year ago he couldn’t stop scoring goals.
Cannon picked up a serious knee injury earlier in the year and was sidelined from February onwards. There’s since been no news about when he might return, though many would assume that this summer’s pre-season would be the aim for both Cannon and Wrexham.
Speaking after his 2022 arrival, Parkinson hailed Cannon as a ‘quality’ player, and the 29-year-old has certainly had his moments for the club, particularly in 2023/24 where he scored six and assisted five more as Wrexham won League Two promotion.
But as the quality of players starts to increase, Cannon could be one who’s unfortunately left behind. If he hadn’t been injured that might not be the case as he played 24 times in League One before his injury, making the situation all the more frustrating.
He could be kept around as a rotational player next season. But right now it’s looking like Cannon could quickly fall down the ranks at Wrexham.
