Wrexham look set to do some more business before the September 1st deadline, but that could mean both incomings and outgoings.
Wrexham have already signed nine new players this summer, and Phil Parkinson looks set to make it 10 very soon with reports that Wrexham are close to signing Callum Doyle from Manchester City.
And it’s another big money signing for Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s team, with reports suggesting that the Dragons are paying up to £8m for the England under-21 defender.
Next up, we could see another midfield signing for Parkinson, with two seemingly on his radar right now. In the last 24 hours, Wrexham have been linked with a move for Jordan James at Stade Rennais, and also West Ham’s Andy Irving.

Elliot Lee’s Wrexham future could be in major doubt
James and Irving could be two exciting signings for Wrexham, especially James who is a Welsh international and proven at Championship level. But both arriving would certainly cause a bit of a shuffle in the Wrexham midfield department that could see Elliot Lee move even closer towards leaving the Racecourse this summer.
Reports earlier in the month revealed that Lee could leave Wrexham this summer, having fallen slightly down the pecking order following promotion to the Championship. The 30-year-old is yet to feature in the Championship this season, but played and scored in Wrexham’s Carabao Cup win over Hull City earlier in the month.
Already this summer, Parkinson has added both Lewis O’Brien and George Thomason to his midfield ranks, and adding another two could surely see Lee fall well out of contention and potentially even push for a move away from the club himself.

Elliot Lee risks the same fate as Paul Mullin at Wrexham
Everyone knows Paul Mullin’s story at Wrexham; dropping down to the National League and firing the club all the way to the Championship, but falling well out of favour along the way. Now, Mullin is on loan at Wigan Athletic in League One and it looks as though he may never play for the Dragons again.
Despite having been such a hero for the club, Parkinson completely exiled Mullin in the second half of last season, along with Ollie Palmer too. Lee may now face the same fate as both Mullin and Palmer.
Despite having been a great servant for the club and likely still having a lot to offer in the Championship, the club’s rise and continuing signing of quality players means that players like Mullin may literally fall out of favour almost overnight.
For Lee, it may be best to push away for a move from the club, should the likes of James and Irving sign this summer, to avoid spending half a season or a season completely in exile.
Wrexham next play Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship on Saturday.
