Wrexham picked up a second win of the season on Tuesday night and a second win in the season’s Carabao Cup.
Wrexham are now into the third round of the season’s Carabao Cup having beaten Hull City and now Preston North End.
On Tuesday night, Wrexham came from behind to beat Preston 3-2 with Kieffer Moore coming off the bench to score a late winner, and to score his third goal in four games since his move from Sheffield United earlier in the summer.
Ahead of the summer transfer window closing on September 1st, Phil Parkinson has said he is working on Wrexham transfers both in and out of the Racecourse.
But with the club having signed 10 new players already this summer, it looks like we may see more departures than arrivals in the final days of the window.

Harry Ashfield continues to impress at Wrexham
The departures have been picking up in recent weeks, with the likes of Sebastian Revan having joined Burton Albion on loan, and then on Tuesday, Reading completed the signing of Jack Marriott on a permanent deal from Wrexham. Another player who has been tipped to leave this summer is Harry Ashfield.
The Wrexham academy graduate impressed in pre-season and has been in and around the first-team picture so far this season. Earlier in the summer though, it was claimed that Ashfield could leave Wrexham on loan in a bid to gain first-team minutes. But Ashfield is giving Parkinson more and more reason to keep him at Wrexham this season.
On Tuesday, Ashfield put in a good performance and was on the scoresheet during the win over Preston, scoring his second goal in what was only his eighth first-team appearance.

Wrexham surely keep Harry Ashfield beyond September 1st
Wrexham’s midfield department is certainly bloated and could do with one or two player sales before the summer transfer window is over.
But instead of loaning out Ashfield, Parkinson may be better off selling the likes of George Evans and Andy Cannon, and potentially Elliot Lee who has also been tipped to leave Wrexham this summer.
And Ashfield has already hinted that he could be kept at Wrexham beyond this summer’s transfer window. Speaking recently, Ashfield suggested that he will not be leaving Wrexham on loan, saying: “He [Parkinson] just wants me to show what I can do on the pitch when he gives me the opportunity.
“I just learn in training from the players we’ve brought in and then push on. Hopefully I’ll play as many games as possible this year. It’s an exciting time to be at the club.”
Ashfield certainly responded to Parkinson’s call for him to perform when called upon, and the chances of Ashfield now leaving on loan certainly seem to be getting slimmer and slimmer.
Instead, Ashfield would get better experience playing around quality players in the Wrexham team and in the Championship this season. He could even become an important rotational player in what is a midfield department full of quality.
Wrexham return to action away at Millwall this weekend.
