Potential Wrexham deals to watch on transfer deadline day, including iconic striker’s exit and one more loan signing

Transfer deadline day is finally here, and Wrexham have the potential to surprise us all with a few more big moves before the window closes tonight.

Until recently, Wrexham had endured a frustrating and uneventful transfer window, with just a handful of departures to discuss.

But, with the arrival of Ryan Longman, and the double swoop for Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez ahead of the weekend, things got a lot more exciting for Red Dragons’ fans.

Now, with just hours to go until the window slams shut, we wonder whether Phil Parkinson is done with his transfer business?

Ollie Palmer could end his incredible time at Wrexham

One of the most shocking stories that could well develop today is regarding Ollie Palmer’s future at Wrexham, with ‘multiple clubs’ thought to be looking at the striker.

Palmer and Paul Mullin’s partnership has been integral to Wrexham’s success over the last few years, and it’s almost unthinkable that he would move on, but the veteran forward has certainly fallen down the pecking order of late.

The arrival of Smith and Rodriguez complicates matters further, and with Palmer not in the best of form, Wrexham may well look to cash in today.

Luke Bolton and Will Boyle are surplus to requirements

Far less surprising would be the departure of either Luke Bolton or Will Boyle (or indeed both). The pair have struggled for minutes this season, largely due to fitness issues, and are certainly not part of Parkinson’s core plans at the Racecourse Ground.

Parkinson even named the two players as ones who could miss out on his 22-man squad for the second half of the season.

Bolton would seem most likely to leave, given the arrival of Longman, but if both were to move on it would not particularly raise any eyebrows.

Dylan Levitt could arrive on loan

While the signings of Smith and Rodriguez were massive for Wrexham in helping them find more of an edge in attack, we believe the Red Dragons still need one more player.

With the departure of James Jones, Wrexham are leaving themselves a little short in the middle of the park, and a new midfielder is surely next on the shopping list.

Hibernian midfielder Dylan Levitt was linked with a loan move to Wrexham, and that potential deal could end up picking up steam as we approach the deadline today.
