Wrexham could soon have two more attackers to add to Phil Parkinson’s squad, with a double Welsh swoop now on the cards.

Wrexham released Steven Fletcher at the end of his contract, while Paul Mullin joined Wigan Athletic as Phil Parkinson decided to shake up his attacking options.

Ryan Hardie arrived from Plymouth Argyle and Josh Windass signed for Wrexham last week, but Parkinson isn’t done just yet.

Reports suggest that Wrexham are close to signing Kieffer Moore, with the Wales international expected to join in the next 48 hours.

Moore could be joined by a familiar face, with Ipswich Town attacker Nathan Broadhead also nearing a move to the STōK Cae Ras.

Wrexham advancing Nathan Broadhead deal

Reports earlier this week claimed that Wrexham had made a £7million move for Broadhead, as he missed Ipswich Town’s friendly against Charlton Athletic.

The speculation shifted quickly, suggesting that Wrexham were close to signing Broadhead in a £7.5million swoop.

Broadhead’s deal hasn’t been finalised just yet, with TWTD claiming that Ipswich hadn’t actually accepted a bid yet.

Sky Sports now report that Wrexham’s talks to sign Broadhead are ‘progressing’ in the right direction.

Wrexham are described as being ‘increasingly confident’ of signing Broadhead, even if Ipswich still haven’t given the green light.

Kieran McKenna had no plans to sell Broadhead this summer, but a deal being close suggests that the Welshman is keen on the move.

Broadhead was previously in the Wrexham youth ranks, but was plucked by Premier League side Everton at the age of just 10.

Now seemingly heading back to Wrexham, the Bangor-born attacker is poised to become the club’s new record signing and a major addition to Parkinson’s front line.

Nathan Broadhead and Kieffer Moore bring promotion experience

Broadhead has predominantly played as a left-sided winger at Ipswich, but has shown his versatility to play in different attacking roles.

The 27-year-old has proven himself in the Championship in the past, bagging 13 goals in the 2023-24 campaign.

That season saw Ipswich win promotion to the Premier League, with both Broadhead and Moore playing key roles in their success.

Moore also won promotion to the Premier League with Bournemouth in 2022, scoring the crucial goal to beat Nottingham Forest and secure the Cherries’ return to the top flight.

Wrexham have Premier League aspirations, and whether it’s this season or down the line, Parkinson will hope to see Broadhead and Moore replicate their promotion success during their time at the STōK Cae Ras.
