Wrexham can soon sign new players ahead of their 2025/26 Championship campaign, with many looking set to make the move to the Racecourse this summer.

For Wrexham and everyone else in the English Football League, the summer transfer window opens on June 1st, leaving manager Phil Parkinson with just a few days before he can officially sign new players.

It’s a very exciting time for Wrexham following their promotion to the Championship with the club now being linked with some very exciting players, as the list of Wrexham transfer targets grows all the time.

Among the names linked are the likes of Tom Cairney. It’s been reported that Wrexham have offered a contract to Cairney ahead of his Fulham deal expiring this summer, whilst departing Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is also a target for Wrexham, per reports.

Though there doesn’t seem to be anything too close to happening for Wrexham in the transfer market right now. Although one of Parkinson’s reported targets has just been let go by his current club.

One player said to be a target for Parkinson this summer is Jonny Evans. It’s been reported that Wrexham are considering a move for Evans this summer, with the 37-year-old’s contract at Old Trafford set to expire following what is his second stint with the Red Devils.

And following the conclusion of the 2024/25 Premier League season, which Ruben Amorim’s side finished with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa, Man United have confirmed that Evans is among a trio of players set to leave as free agents this summer, along with Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof.

The 107-capped Northern Ireland international Evans has 386 Premier League appearances to his name and 241 total appearances for Man United in his career. Evans has also lifted the Premier League on three occasions as well as the Champions League in 2008, among many other titles.

The centre-backs linked with Wrexham so far this summer

Centre-back certainly seems like a position that Parkinson is keen to bolster, given how many have so far been linked with a move to the club this summer.

Among them is Evans’ Man United teammate Jack Kingdon. Kingdon is a target for Wrexham and he too is out of contract this summer, though United are yet to confirm their decision on the 19-year-old’s future.

Elsewhere, Wrexham want to sign Harry Darling who’s out of contract at Swansea City in what could be a very controversial, but very exciting potential signing for Wrexham.

And lastly, Plymouth Argyle centre-back Maksym Taloverov is a target for Wrexham too, following his side’s relegation to League One this season.
