The signings keep on arriving at Wrexham, with reports that Manchester City’s Callum Doyle is the next to make the move to the Racecourse.

So far this summer, Wrexham have signed nine new players. Then, reports on Tuesday morning revealed that Wrexham are closing in on an £8m move for Callum Doyle at Manchester City.

The City academy graduate looks set to be the 10th signing for Phil Parkinson this summer, and he’ll be the club’s second most expensive signing ever. The most expensive is Nathan Broadhead who joined Wrexham in a £10m deal last week, making his debut on the weekend as Wrexham lost 3-2 at home to West Brom.

Ahead of the September 1st deadline, here we look at the players who could still leave North Wales in the final two weeks of the window…

The five Wrexham players who could leave before September 1st

Jacob Mendy

All summer long, it has been understood that Jacob Mendy could be one who leaves Wrexham this summer. The full-back is yet to play this season, though featured as an unused substitute in the last game against West Brom.

It is understood that Mendy could potentially leave Wrexham on loan, though whether or not Parkinson may want to keep him around after Sebastian Revan joined Burton Albion on loan remains to be seen. Either way, it looks as though Mendy is out of the first-team picture right now.

Dan Scarr

Centre-back Dan Scarr played a key role in the run-in. The defender stepped in for the injured Eoghan O’Connell and starred as Wrexham got over the line in League One, but Scarr has yet to feature in the Championship Matchday Squad this season.

He played against Hull City, but following the arrivals of Conor Coady and soon Doyle, it looks as though Scarr will fall completely out of the question. Already, it has been reported that Scarr could be sold by Wrexham before the end of the transfer window.

Ollie Palmer

Ollie Palmer seems like the obvious one to leave before the end of the transfer window. But the striker situation remains a confusing one, especially after the injury to Josh Windass in Wrexham’s game against West Brom. Though it has been constantly reported that Palmer will leave Wrexham this summer.

In fact, Palmer has been offered to several clubs, including his former club, AFC Wimbledon. Despite Windass’ injury, it still seems as though Palmer is out of the question at Wrexham.

Elliot Lee

Another fan favourite and long-standing Wrexham player who could be on the move this summer is Elliot Lee. The midfield favourite featured and scored in Wrexham’s win over Hull City in the Carabao Cup last week but is yet to play in the Championship. Reports earlier in the month revealed that Lee is one who could leave Wrexham this summer, potentially making room in the wage budget for a new signing.

George Evans

George Evans is another midfielder who is yet to feature in the Championship this season. He too played against Hull City but the arrival of Lewis O’Brien has seemingly shunted Evans even further down the pecking order than he was going into this season.

Depending on whether Parkinson wants to keep him purely for depth and whether or not Evans wants to leave and play regular first-team football, the Englishman could be another either loaned out or sold before September 1st.
