An EFL manager has been full of praise after Wrexham completed a seven-figure deal.
There is still over a month of the summer transfer window to go, but Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have already set a Wrexham record.
The club have, so far, made five first-team additions to their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
This included Wrexham breaking their transfer record for Liberato Cacace, who has arrived for around £4m, including bonuses.
Josh Windass is the latest addition, while George Thomason arrived from Bolton Wanderers earlier this week.
Player | Price |
| Liberato Cacace | €2.50m (bonuses not included) |

Bolton Wanderers manager praises Wrexham signing George Thomason
Wrexham paid £1.2m for Thomason, making him the club’s current third-most expensive signing behind Cacace and Smith.
The ex-Bolton midfielder has explained his style of play to the Dragons fans, and they should be excited, especially after what Bolton Wanderers’ manager has been saying about him this week.
Bolton were in pre-season action on Tuesday evening and comments made by Steven Schumacher after that friendly have now emerged.
When speaking about Wrexham’s latest addition, Schumacher labelled him a ‘top professional’ and wished him success in the Championship, as per The Bolton News.
He said: “We wish George all the best. He’s a top lad, a top professional and deserves his opportunity in the Championship.
“And I hope he goes and does really well. And yes, we’ll be working hard to replace him.”

George Thomason on Championship football with Wrexham
Like many of the club’s current players, the midfielder has no experience in the second tier of English football.
But when discussing Wrexham playing in the Championship, he expressed hope that they would be able to compete.
He said after signing, “For me it’s also the first time I’m playing in the Championship. So hopefully we’re going to come in here and be super competitive.
“Look, there’s a culture here of togetherness and team spirit, but also these boys know how to win football matches. So, I’m very confident that that’s going to be something that we’re going to progress on even more this season.
“We’re going to have a real good go at it. We’re going to attack it. And for me personally, I want to play as many games as I possibly can and help contribute to the team.”
