Wrexham remain active in the summer transfer market following their consecutive Championship defeats.
The beginning of the 2025/26 Championship season has not been fruitful for Phil Parkinson’s side after Wrexham suffered defeat to West Brom this weekend.
During the game, West Brom fans taunted Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac with anti-Hollywood chanting, and Baggies midfielder Isaac Price equally tormented the Dragons on the field.
Wrexham have made several exceptional signings throughout the transfer window, with summer addition Lewis O’Brien shining against West Brom despite the defeat.
After the 3-2 loss, Parkinson admitted that the spending spree is not over this summer after highlighting the key areas of the pitch that his side must strengthen in before the window slams shut on September 1.

Defenders Wrexham have been linked with signing for Phil Parkinson
After the West Brom defeat, as quoted by The Athletic, Parkinson said: “The game was won and lost in both boxes.
“We probably do need another couple of players. We’re looking across the board (loan and permanent signings). That’s ongoing.”
Therefore, the Wrexham boss has alluded to the need for defensive and forward recruits in the final two weeks of the summer transfer window, with several targets touted for a move to the Racecourse.
In terms of defenders, Wrexham are keen on signing Jack Robinson from Championship rivals Sheffield United, who have started their second tier season with two defeats from two outings.
As well as Robinson, Wrexham are interested in Calum Chambers, with the former Arsenal defender already having received the seal of approval from Chambers’ former boss, Arsene Wenger.
| Player name | Championship appearances |
| Conor Coady | 181 |
| Jack Robinson | 260 |
| Callum Chambers | 41 |
Both Robinson and Chambers are seasoned professionals with years of EFL experience under their belts, much akin to new signing Conor Coady, but another recent transfer target would be an ambitious youthful move.
Reports emerged recently that Wrexham bid £2m for Callum Doyle, who starred on loan last season at Norwich City, but the Dragons’ offer fell £6m short of City’s valuation.
As a natural left-footer, Doyle would be an exceptional signing for the left-sided centre-back in Parkinson’s formation, if the Dragons bump up their offer.

Forwards linked with Wrexham moves despite Nathan Broadhead deal
Despite Wrexham signing Nathan Broadhead from league rivals Ipswich Town in a new club-record signing, forwards continue to be linked with a move to the STōK Cae Ras.
After summer signing Josh Windass suffered an injury against West Brom on his home league debut for the Dragons, Wrexham may be forced to dip back into the market for goalscoring reinforcements.
Wrexham want to sign Ben Koumas on loan from Premier League title holders Liverpool, but with the 19-year-old being a natural winger rather than a centre-forward, his signing would not guarantee goals for Parkinson.
Striker Ollie Palmer’s future looks to be away from Wrexham beyond the summer window after Parkinson left Palmer out of the Wrexham squad against West Brom this weekend.
With Windass’ injury and Palmer’s seemingly inevitable departure, the onus is on Broadhead to hit the ground running for Wrexham; otherwise, the Dragons’ recruitment team may be forced to search for further forward additions.
